Sonicwall Instructions

Use the following procedure to set up Sonicwall.

Configure Sonicwall

  1. Under your firewall access rules, add a rule to allow the IP Telecom range:

    general

    NOTE: Make sure correct network object is created 195.191.28.0/23 (255.255.254.0) (see Minimum Network Requirements)

  2. Click Advanced to tune the UDP timer.

  3. Click QoS.

  4. Save

  5. Add DHCP options under the Advanced tab:

    NOTE: Add the correct boot string for phone autoprovisioning on DHCP server, under option 66 (IP Telecom will supply one)

  6. Security services > intrusion prevention.

Disable DPI for VoIP range/interface

To disable DPI on the specific traffic, use the following procedure:

  1. In the web management interface, navigate to Firewall | Access Rules. Click Add and Add Rule window will be displayed.
  2. In General tab, use "From", "To", "Source Port", "Service", "Destination", "Users Included" and "Users Excluded" to define the specific traffic.
  3. In Advanced tab, select the checkbox next to Disable DPI.

Disable DPI for SonicOS 6.5 and later

SonicOS 6.5 was released September 2017. This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 and later firmware.

To disable DPI on the specific traffic, use the following procedure:

  1. In the web management interface, navigate to Manage > Policies > Rules > Access Rules. Click Add and the Add Rule window will be displayed.
  2. In General tab, use "From", "To", "Source Port", "Service", "Destination", "Users Included" and "Users Excluded" to define the specific traffic.
  3. In Advanced tab, select the checkbox next to Disable DPI.
