Yealink - External Directory
IP Telecom does not provide an external contacts directory as part of the hosted PBX service. However, you can set this up according to your own unique network infrastructure.
For details of how to use the Yealink Phonebook Directory, see the manufacturers instructions Yealink Phonebook Tool User Guide.
Below are brief steps on how you can implement this yourself.
To use an external directory on your devices:
-
Use the XML file format shown:
- Create each contact by creating a new “DirectoryEntry” element.
- If a contact has more than one number, add in another
-
This file can be used as a template; replace the unwanted characters and then upload to your server.
- After you create the XML file and upload it to the HTTP server, you can then upload it to the phone.
-
The phone must be pointed to the file on the HTTP server in the "Remote Phone Book Tab".
-
After the file uploads, the entries are found under the soft key Devices > Directory > Remote Phone Book and select the phonebook name assigned as the display name.
