Unidata - Setting up a Unidata Device

When you are setting up a Unidata phone for the first time, you must provide IP Telecom with the following details. We will register the phone in our database. When we have confirmed registration, follow the steps to set up the phone.

  • Wifi name (SSID) and Wifi password
  • The user that will be using the phone and the name/number you want to display on the screen of the phone
  • Mac address of the phone

To set up a Unidata Wifi phone:

  1. On your device, perform the following steps:

    1. Press the "down" arrow
    2. Press 8 "System Settings" OR "9" if the latest firmware is already installed
    3. Press 3 "APS Address"
    4. Set "PROTOCOL" to "HTTP"
    5. Set "Input IP or DNS" to p.iptel.co/unidata/firmware OR p.iptel.co/unidata/realm if the latest firmware is already installed (confirm the realm with IP Telecom)
    6. Set "Use BOOTP 66 option" to "No"
    7. Set “Use Provision” to “YES”
    8. Press "Set" and press "END" to leave the menu
    9. On the phone go to WLAN, select your Wifi network, connect the phone to WiFi, and go back to the main screen.
  2. Your device should now display a username; if it does not, then you need to download latest firmware

  3. If the device needs to download the latest firmware, it will take a few minutes to do so. When the phone is back proceed to:

    1. Press the "down" arrow
    2. Press 9 "System Settings".
    3. Default password: 00000000 (8 zeros)
    4. Press 3 "APS Address"
    5. Set "Input IP or DNS" to p.iptel.co/unidata/realm (confirm realm with IP Telecom)
    6. Press "Set"
  4. The phone downloads the user configuration.

  5. When the download is complete, you can see the name or number on the display.

The phone is now ready to be used.
