Configuring your FRITZ!Box 4040 FTTH Modem

The FRITZ!Box 4040 modem connects your computers, smartphones, tablets and other network compatible devices with each other and with your home network.

Setting up your modem

Use the following steps to set up the FRITZ!Box 4040 for your IP Telecom FTTH connection:

  1. Connect the included LAN cable to the outlet on your internal wall that was installed by the broadband engineers.

  2. Plug the other end of the LAN cable into the WAN (blue) port on the FRITZ!Box.

  3. Start the FRITZ!Box and connect to it by using either WiFi or the wired LAN connection. For more information about this, see the Quick Start Guide included with your modem.

  4. Choose your language.

  5. The FRITZ!Box displays a login page.

  6. Log in using the password provided on the FRITZ! Service card included with your modem.

  7. Select your country.

  8. After you select the country, the FRITZ!Box restarts.

  9. After the restart, the login page displays again; log in using your credentials.
  10. The FRITZ!Box starts the Internet Connection wizard and displays the Internet > Account Information.
  11. From the dropdown menu Internet connection via. select: DSL or fiber optic modem.
  12. A second menu is shown, choose: Other Internet service provider
  13. Under Account Information, "Is account information required" , check Yes.
  14. Enter the username and password that IP Telecom provided.

  15. Under Connection Settings, change the Downstream and Upstream values to match the profile you have selected with IP Telecom.

  16. Expand Change connection settings, go to "VLAN Settings" and check the box to Use VLAN for Internet access. In the VLAN-ID field, enter "10".

  17. Click Apply. After the FRITZ!Box applies the settings successfully, the following screen is displayed:

  18. After you click OK, the FRITZ!Box checks the internet connection. If this check is successful you are now connected to the internet.
